Principals Message

Reminder:
School Closure Day – Wednesday 21st May.
We’d like to remind all families that Wednesday 21st May is a School Closure Day.
This means students do not attend school on this day.
We understand that closure days can cause disruption, and we want to sincerely thank you for your understanding and support. These days are used for staff professional learning—and they make a real difference to the quality of education we provide your children.
Next Wednesday, our entire staff team will be working with Tom Bennett, one of the world’s leading voices on behaviour in schools. Tom is a former teacher and the author of Running the Room—a practical and powerful guide to creating calm, focused and safe classrooms where learning can thrive. He has advised schools and governments around the world, including serving as the UK Government’s Behaviour Advisor.
This professional learning supports the work we’ve been doing throughout 2024 on School-Wide Expectations. Together, we’ve been developing shared routines and behaviour strategies so that all students experience a calm, consistent and supportive environment—no matter which classroom they are in. Tom’s work will help us take this to the next level.
Again, thank you for supporting us to undertake this important work. We know that when staff are well trained and supported, our students benefit most.
Kind regards,
Cameron Nicholls
Principal
