Mr Anthony Robbins
A highlight of this term has been our Year 7 Camp. Our newest students headed to Phillip Island Adventure Resort to build connections through a variety of activities. Students were asked to step outside their comfort zones and for many this proved challenging but not insurmountable. Students had a wonderful experience surfing, on the Giant Swing and High Ropes course or taking part in the Team Rescue Challenge. All the while meeting new people and creating belonging. Long after this experience students still mention this camp and many of our Year 12 students recall the Year 7 camp as the best experience they have had just behind their final year Retreat. Many thanks to Mr Josh Stubbe for all his organisational work in managing the logistics and putting the program together.
Just a reminder that part of our Behaviour Support policy includes an After School Detention (ASD) process. These are held on a Wednesday night between 3.30pm and 4.30pm. We appreciate that this can be inconvenient for families however they are not given lightly. Students have often been managed in other ways before the issuing of ASD. The support of our community is important in teaching our young people, that while we understand that we don’t get everything right there are consequences for actions.
Further to that, it is worth noting that representing the College in any activity external to the school is a privilege not a right. Again, where students are not able to meet our expectations, the ability to represent the College may be withdrawn. This is at the discretion of the College Leadership team.

Parents and carers have access to School TV through our CCS website. This resource endeavours to provide support to families in a world ever increasing in its complexities. What is School TV? See below from their website:
It’s never been more challenging for parents to raise happy, healthy and resilient children. The SchoolTV platform provides schools with an extensive range of wellbeing resources for parents, so they can work together in partnership to ensure better wellbeing for all students.
There is an upcoming webinar, see below, that parents and carers may be interested in accessing, please see below. This webinar talks about understanding anxiety and depression and fostering resilience. There are a large range of other topics available through this site so we encourage you to take advantage of this offering.
Teenagers can spend a lot of time online. Instant messaging, sharing photos and videos, playing games and using voice chat through social media services can be a big part of their social identity.
It can be a great experience but there are risks. You can help them develop the skills to manage these risks and deal with negative situations.
This book covers some of the key online safety issues for young people and includes a range of practical tips and advice on what to do if things go wrong. You can also find a list of important services that can offer extra support.
Please feel free to reach out to the Wellbeing Support Officers if you require further support or assistance.
As we near the end of the term it is prudent to mention the change of uniform that will take place as the winter months approach. Students will be required to wear their winter uniform which is as listed below. A reminder that the College Blazer is to be worn to and from school.
Families are advised that a wide range of the new girls’ slacks and scarves are now available in store. In addition, the full sports uniform range has arrived, including the new track pants and winter jackets.
After being unavailable for a short period, girls’ sports shorts are now fully restocked.
All items can be purchased from David's Menswear, and families are encouraged to visit the store to ensure students are prepared for the cooler months ahead.
Our SEED program is an integral part of life at the College. Currently, our young people are spending some time getting to know their fellow House Members and learning about Resilience. The Learning intentions and success Criteria are below.

In undertaking this program, we are endeavouring to help our young people, create belonging, share success and strive for excellence.
