Religious Dimension

Sunday's 2nd Sunday Gospel reading: John 9:1-41
In this week’s Gospel, John 9:1–41, Jesus heals a man who has been blind since birth. While others focus on blaming someone for the man’s blindness, Jesus shows that God’s love can be revealed through acts of care and compassion. The man not only gains his sight, but he also comes to recognise who Jesus is.
This story invites us to think about how we “see” others.
Do we notice people who may need kindness, understanding or support?
As a community we might wonder:
- How can we help our children see others with kindness and compassion?
- Where might God be inviting us to notice and help someone in need?
Caritas Project Compassion- The Big Water Walk
During the season of Lent, our school community is supporting Project Compassion, raising funds to empower people living in poverty around the world. Every day, millions of people face unimaginable challenges just to access basic essentials such as clean water, healthcare and safe shelter. As part of our Lenten action, on Tuesday, 17 March, Harmony Day, each class will take part in The BIG Water Walk. Students will have the opportunity to carry a bucket of water over a distance around the school grounds to understand what it might feel like for many people in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, who walk long distances every day just to collect clean water for their families.
This experience will help our students develop empathy and awareness while reminding us how fortunate we are to have easy access to clean water. We invite our families to support this important cause by donating through our QR code or our direct link here to the school's fundraising page.
Thank you for standing with us as we Unite Against Poverty through Project Compassion this Lent and help create real and lasting change for vulnerable communities around the world.
