Student Engagement and Wellbeing

Dear Wimba Families and Students,
It has been a wonderful term filled with learning and opportunities to build friendships and connections with students, teachers and families. Students have settled in well and are demonstrating an understanding of our routines and expectations.
Assembly
Our Assembly will be held on Monday 30th of March. Red House Captains and Vice Captains will be leading the assembly. We look forward to seeing you all there.
House Spirit Captains and Vice Captains
Our Captains and Vice Captains completed their first event for the term. They worked together with Foundation Students to create their House Spirit Keychains. Students all enjoyed working together and building relationships within their houses. Thank you to our House Captains and Vice Captains for organising and leading this great activity.
Harmony Day
On Thursday 19th March, we celebrated Harmony Day. It was wonderful to see students dressed in their cultural clothing or wearing a touch of orange. Students participated in a variety of classroom activities and created a leaf representing their culture to add to our Harmony Tree – Everyone Belongs. Two trees will be on display, one in Koala and the other in Echidna.
Harmony Day reminds us that our differences make us stronger and that respect, inclusion and kindness are at the heart of our community. We are proud to celebrate the diversity within our school community and promote a sense of inclusion and belonging for all students.
Attendance
Students are expected to attend school every day and be on time, ready to begin their learning at 8:50am. Arriving on time helps ensure a smooth start to the day and sets students up for success in their learning.
If your child is absent from school for three days with no explanation, you will receive a call from your child's classroom teacher. If there is no answer, we will try your emergency contacts and send you an email. We need all families to respond to us as soon as possible as we need to ensure all absences are explained.
Breakfast Club
We love seeing our students drop in on Tuesday and Friday mornings to grab a piece of toast or a cup of cereal. It’s a great way to fuel your body and get energised before heading off to class to start the day.
Just a reminder that the Breakfast Club opens at 8:30am and finishes at 8:45am on Tuesday and Fridays, as all students need to make their way to their classrooms ready for learning.
We look forward to seeing you there! 🥣🍞
Have a restful holiday, stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone back in Term 2.
Thank you,
Yonca Kuslucali
Assistant Principal
