Dear Families,

Since the last newletter I have managed to rectify my previous issue of not having had any chocolate or hot cross buns. I can well and truly tick that one off the Easter bucket list now!

As we wrap up another busy and rewarding term, it’s important to take a moment to reflect not just on what we have achieved, but how we have grown as learners.

In our classrooms, every child’s learning journey is unique. It’s natural to notice what others can do or what they are learning, but what truly matters is the progress each student makes from their own starting point. We want to encourage our children to focus on their personal effort and improvements, rather than comparing themselves to their peers as little good usually comes from that!!

Learning is not a race or a competition. It’s a continuous process where every step forward counts. When our students understand that growth is about their own progress, not how they stack up against others, they develop self confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

At Niangala, being part of our school community means receiving an inclusive education that values tolerance, leadership, and acceptance. We are committed to fostering an environment where all students, including those with disabilities and neurodivergent students, are supported and celebrated.

To further strengthen this commitment, at the beginning of next term our staff will participate in a statewide professional learning day dedicated to inclusive education. This important staff development day, set by the Department of Education, focuses specifically on better understanding and supporting students with diverse learning needs. This continual learning ensures that we keep improving how we support every child’s unique learning journey.

As we look ahead to the next term, let’s celebrate our children’s effort and progress, nurturing a love of learning that is personal and meaningful. Together, we can support each other on this exciting journey of discovery, growth, and inclusion.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment throughout the term. We look forward to a wonderful term ahead but before that - holidays!! I wish everyone, our families and students a wonderful holiday and particularly the staff who have had a busy and jam packed term. Happy chocolate hunting and enjoy those autumn filled days ahead.
