Principal's Message

Dear Truganina College School Community,

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope all families had a restful and rejuvenating break. We are thrilled to begin the term with a series of exciting events and celebrations ahead.

One of the highlights of this term is the grand opening of our new Yarning Circle and Indigenous Garden, taking place in Week 2. This event will be part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, where we honour and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. A heartfelt thank you to our First Nations students and their families who contributed to the construction and planting of this beautiful and culturally significant space.

Later this term, we are also proud to announce that The Hon. Ben Carroll, Minister for Education, will be visiting our College—a wonderful recognition of the great work happening in our learning community.

Term 3 is packed with rich learning opportunities and events for students across all year levels, including:

  • Science Week and Book Week celebrations
  • Swimming programs
  • Maths competitions and writing incursions
  • Rugby clinics and more!

Please keep an eye on our newsletter calendar, Compass alerts, and Facebook updates to stay informed about all the activities relevant to your child’s year level.

We ended Term 2 on a high note with the official opening of our new basketball court, now a colourful and new play and fitness space for students—complete with upgraded bathrooms.

Congratulations to all our students who participated in the Athletics Carnival! Freeman took both the wins for Years 3–4 and 7–9!

There’s so much to look forward to this term—Truganina College continues to be an inspiring and energetic place to learn and grow!

Warm regards,
