Foundation - Grade 1

Over the past fortnight the Foundation/Grade 1 children have been busy building their sound knowledge and tricky word bank. The Foundations are now very excitedly reading decodable readers independently and the Grade ones are investigating the differences between nous, verb and adjectives. During our numeracy units we have been looking at the part and wholes of numbers with the grade ones being introduced to the addition and equals to symbols.

This fortnight the F/1/2s had a visit from Ditto who spoke to the children about personal safety and that it’s ok to say ‘no’. The children enjoyed the singing and dancing with their friend Ditto while learning a valuable lesson on who we can talk to ‘our 5 special adults’ and how to respond when we don’t feel comfortable.

Grade 1 / 2

Last week the Grade 1/2 students enjoyed their visit from Ditto, learning all about keeping safe and who we can tell if something is making us feel unsafe.

As we come to the end of term, please make sure students are coming to school with jumpers or jackets on these cold mornings!
