Principal Update

St Francis, Nathalia is a child safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.

An update from our Principal

Jesus, you said, “Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give

you rest.” Right now, I’m worn out and weary, so here I am, coming to you.

Please give me that rest of spirit you promised. Take my mind off of my work and problems for the next few days and weeks, and help me relax.

Thank you for never being too busy for me.

Any time of the day or night, I can stop and direct my thoughts toward you, and you

always know just what I need. I feel such peace in your presence.

When I get tired every obstacle seems like a mountain, you help me put things in

perspective and the mountains melt away.

When I’m confused or frustrated, you bring things into focus. Just a few minutes

with you changes everything.

Thank you, Jesus.

AMEN

Dear Parents / Caregivers, Staff, Students and Friends,

It is with as tinge of sadness that we farewell Sasha for the remainder of 2025. Sasha has taken 6 months leave from St Francis to pursue a Learning Support Officer role at SMOTA.

We thank Sasha for her service and dedication to the students in her care but also to our community as a whole. Please join me in wishing Sasha well as she undertakes this next chapter in her professional life.

Last Wednesday our entire staff took part in a professional learning day in Shepparton to be introduced to and unpack Classroom Mastery. Classroom Mastery is a key part of Magnify Sandhurst, helping to ensure our classrooms and schools are safe, peaceful and calm places of learning. Please find inserted into this edition of the newsletter more detailed information about Classroom Mastery and the associated routines involved.

Next week and during the first week of term three I am fortunate to be taking a short period of Long Service Leave. During this time Mrs Rosina Gemmill will act as the Principal and will be supported by Mr Chris Dainton in the Deputy Principal role. I return to school on Monday July 28.

Although the holidays are still a week away this is our last newsletter for this term. May you and your family enjoy a safe and peaceful Mid-year break. Thank you to our staff and students for your dedication and work ethic throughout term two and thank you to our families for your continued support. I look forward to term three with optimism and enthusiasm for what lies ahead. The above prayer is to guide us into the holiday break and give us permission to rest and be renewed.

Last Day Term 2 Friday 4th July @ 2.20pm

With Peace and Goodwill,

Matt Carver

Principal

Crunch & Sip

In Term 3 we will begin our move into classroom mastery; a behaviour management program that the Sandhurst Diocese has implemented throughout the 55 schools this year. To make this a smooth transition we are making a few changes to the way we have a fruit break at 10am.

We will now have a “crunch and sip” time at 10am with fruit or vegetable cut up in a small container that will be placed on their tables before the school day. This will limit the large bulky lunchboxes coming into the classroom and allow for a smooth transition into the next session.

Below is an image of ideas that you can put into your child’s small container for ‘crunch and sip’.
