First Contact-Museum of Artefacts

On Thursday the Middles students presented their museum of artefacts to the school and parent community. As part of their inquiry into the consequences of change the students have been learning about the causes of significant events that shaped the Australian colonies, contributed to Australian Federation and the effects of these on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As part of this inquiry students were tasked with replicating a European or Indigenious artefact from the time of first contact. During the museum they were able to explain to the visitors what this artefact did, how it was used, what it was made out of.
