Principal Post

Dear Families,
I hope that your week has begun well! Certainly one to keep warm as we start to experience some true 'Winter' weather.
Our Prayers
We keep in mind and prayer all those affected by the Indian air disaster last week. It is such a tragedy. We remember in prayer our world caught up in so much conflict. May we find ways to solve issues through peaceful means.
Refugee Week
This week is Refugee Week. "The journey towards freedom represents the challenging path that many refugees take, escaping oppression and uncertainty for safety in a new place.
In these new spaces, community is more than just a physical place or a group of people; community is a lifeline. It offers refugees safety, belonging, and the strength to rebuild. Diverse communities bring people together, showing that our differences make us stronger, more united, and capable of facing challenges"
Refugee Council of Australia.
May we always be 'out reaching' and supportive of our refugee brothers and sisters.
Staffing
We congratulate Bec Chan on her appointment at MACS as Literacy Learning Partner beginning Term 3. Bec will be working with a number of schools across the Southern Area implementing best practice in Literacy.
Bec has been at our school for 16 years, working in various roles as a classroom teacher, Student Wellbeing Leader and most recently our Learning and Teaching Leader. We thank Bec for her outstanding contribution to our school over considerable time and wish her well with her new adventure.
I will let you know when we have a replacement teacher or alternative arrangements given the middle of the year.
