As we prepare to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart this Friday, we are reminded of the endless love and compassion that Jesus offers to all. This important feast holds deep meaning in our Catholic faith. It invites us to reflect on Christ’s immense love, symbolised by His Sacred Heart.
St Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun from the 17th century, was devoted to spreading this message of love. Through a series of visions, Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart to her—burning with love for all people—and asked her to share this devotion through prayer, kindness, and receiving the Eucharist.
This feast is especially close to our hearts, as St Margaret Mary is the patron saint of our school. We honour her legacy of faith and love. Her example inspires us to act with kindness, serve with joy, and keep Jesus at the centre of all we do. For our students, it is a meaningful opportunity to grow in faith. Through prayer, reflection, and learning about Jesus, we hope they are encouraged to live out the values of the Sacred Heart by showing kindness, generosity, and empathy in their actions every day.
Dear Jesus,
Your heart is full of love for everyone. Help me to show that love in what I do and say. Teach me to be kind, fair, and forgiving, And to care for others just like You do.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, guide my heart today.
Amen.
