School Policy Updates

School Council met last night and discussed the policies oultined below, noting the following revisions: 

 

Class Placement Policy 

- parents to be notified via XUNO in the week prior that students will be completing their socio-gram in class, allowing time for any discussions to take place at home;

- parent requests for a particular friend or friends to be placed with your child need to be submitted by 31 October of the year prior, in writing and addressed to the Principal, via email - westbreen.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

 

Personal Property Policy

- where a student brings an item of value to the school, they will be stored securely at the school office until the end of the day, and parents notified to provide permission for student collection or to arrange collection within 7 days.  

 

Dogs at Westbreen Primary School Policy

- families who wish to bring their pet dog onto school grounds must ensure their pet dogs are at least 10 metres from surrounding buildings and playgrounds and at least 5 metres from the school entry/exit gates;

- pet dogs must not be tied up on school grounds/property or left unaccompanied.  

 

Communication with School Staff Policy

- this policy has been updated to reflect the right to disconnect legislation where all employees have the right to refuse to monitor, read, listen to or respond to contact that occurs outside their working hours from their employer or a third party (such as a student or a parent), unless that refusal is unreasonable. 

 

Preventing and Addressing Racism in Schools

School Saver Bonus (SSB) - closes 30 June 2025

Don't forget that if you wish to use your SSB funds for events and activities at Westbreen Primary School, please ensure you redeem your unique voucher code via the SSB portal, by30 June 2025

 

After this date any remaining SSB funds will automatically be transferred to your family account with the school however these funds will not be available to use for any upcoming events at our school until August 2025 when final confirmation of any remaining amounts has been processed by the Department of Education.
