Senior School
Course Counselling & Pathways
This year, we placed a strong emphasis on preparing students for course selection, ensuring they make informed choices that support future success. With assemblies, our Careers Night, information sessions, and regular Compass updates, we thank families for their engagement in this important process.
While some conversations during course counselling were difficult, we appreciate your understanding. Lyndale is committed to analysing data and academic trends to guide students towards the subjects and pathways where they are most likely to succeed. Our ultimate goal is for every student to complete Year 12 successfully. With the new Senior School reforms, there are more opportunities than ever to make this a reality.
Now that course counselling is complete, changes cannot be made as the timetable is being developed. Course confirmation will take place later in the year, where students will be informed of their subject allocations for 2026.
We’re also pleased to see strong interest in VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses for 2026. These provide an excellent opportunity for students to gain additional qualifications and broaden their career options while still at school. We’re excited about the high-quality VET offerings we’ll have at Lyndale SC in 2026.
Trial a subject Day
On Friday 25th July- all year 10 students had the ‘Intro to VCE subject day’. A day that is created to support students prior to course counselling in making accurate subject selections. Positive feedback is always received from this day showing us that students have found this a very beneficial process in their course selection.

The Senior School proudly presents our 2025 Merit Shop!
What is a Merit?
Students are provided with GREEN Merits when they are actively displaying the College's values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility throughout the school community both inside and outside of the classroom. A positive Merit is worth one point.
Similarly, students who do not display the College's values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility may be logged with an ORANGE Minor Behaviour (minus one Merit) or a RED Major Behaviour (minus two Merits).
Students who accumulate their Merits will have an opportunity to visit the Merit Shop located in the Year 10 and 11 Senior School Coordination Office every Friday lunchtime to spend their Merits.
Please note Merits are only included for the current calendar year (2025) and previous years will not be tabulated into the current spending pool.
