2025 AUSTRALIAN MATHEMATICS TRUST COMPETITIONS

Dear Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 Parents,

The Australian Mathematics Trust has invited St Cecilia’s to take part in the 2025 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge and Kangourou sans Frontières (KSF).

Kangourou sans Frontières (KSF) - Wednesday 26th to Thursday 27th March

Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge - Monday 31 March to Friday 2nd May

Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) - Tuesday 5th to Thursday 7th August

St Cecilia’s has been a long term participant in the AMC, but this year we are excited to provide our students with the opportunity to participate in the KSF and Bebras Challenge. These challenging competitions are open to all students in Years 3 to 6. We will be completing the competitions online.

The AMC is Australia’s longest running, largest and most well-known maths competition for school students. The AMC contains unique problems designed to challenge and extend your students’ problem-solving skills.

Inspired by the AMC, Kangourou sans Frontières (KSF) is now the largest maths competition in the world, with more than 6 million participants each year.

Topics covered in the AMC and KSF include basic arithmetic, fractions and ratios, algebra and pre-algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics and probability and problem-solving.

Bebras is a fun and engaging computational thinking challenge for students. It is an international challenge that involves over 2.9 million students from 60 countries. Students can participate individually or in teams of up to four.

The cost to enter:

  • All three competitions is $15.20 per student
  • Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) only - $9.00 per student

If you would like your child/children to enter the competitions, please register and make payment through Flexischools by Tuesday 18th March 2025. Please note this is an optional competition. If you have any questions, please contact me  ksutherland@scgleniris.catholic.edu.au
