Mr Dame, week 1 of interviews
How did you become a principal?
How did I become a principal? Well I used to be a classroom teacher back in the years and then a little bit like Mr Byrne, I became a deputy principal and a classroom teacher, then eventually after doing that for a long time I thought about a change in careers and it's a big process to go through. I was interviewed by 7 people and eventually I got the job as a principal. I was then a principal for 7 years at St Pauls P.S- then a principal job came up at OHR so I took the interview and I got the job and I have been principal for 9 years at OHR.
What was your favourite subject to teach?
As a teacher my three favourite subjects were maths, art, and drama.
Are you excited for camp?
Yeah, I always love going to camp.
Most importantly, what’s your favourite weirdest food combo?
My favourite weirdest food… Well there’s this place in Noosa, and there’s this dish called The Pan. It's like pasta with lots of seafood , it looks a little strange because it’s piled up so high. But it is pretty delicious.
Would you rather go to school in a Peppa pig costume or a SpongeBob costume?
Spongebob, definitely. (starts singing the spongebob intro song)
If you were stuck on a deserted island what are 3 things you would bring?
I would bring a Dog to play with. A ball for the dog to play with. A hammock in which to relax. (What about the food?) Oh and a fishing rod to catch fish to eat.
