From the Religious Leader of Learning

Gratitude

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Year 6 teachers and students for preparing the Opening School Mass in Week 3. It was a beautiful and sacred occasion, bringing our community together in celebration of the Eucharist and honouring the school leaders for 2025.

Ash Wednesday

This Wednesday, 5th March, students from Years 3 to 6 will join former Our Lady Star of the Sea students at St Patrick’s College to celebrate Mass, marking the beginning of Lent.

Lent is a sacred season in the Catholic Church — a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare our hearts for Easter. It is a period to grow closer to God by making sacrifices, helping those in need, and renewing our faith. As a Catholic community, we will also be supporting Project Compassion during this time, working together to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Sacrament Enrollment

Please see the below Compass that was sent out to parents and carers in Year 2, 3 & 6.

Dear Parents,

I am excited to share the scheduled dates for the upcoming sacraments: First Holy Communion for Year 3, Reconciliation for Year 2, and Confirmation for Year 6.

  • First Holy Communion: Sunday 3rd August 12:30pm at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church
  • Confirmation: Sunday 9th November (Time TBA) at St Mary's Cathedral
  • Reconciliation: Thursday 13th November 4pm at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church

Students and their families are warmly invited to attend the Sacrament Registration Mass on Saturday, 8th March, at 5:00 pm. This will be an opportunity to collect important information and register for the upcoming sacraments.

We look forward to celebrating these significant milestones in your child's faith journey

Yours in Faith
