Physical Education

This term in PE, our students have been actively developing and mastering their fundamental movement skills while having plenty of fun!
Our Foundation students have been exploring locomotive movements, such as running, galloping, and balancing, in exciting and creative ways. They have engaged in obstacle courses, movement games, and fun challenges that encourage them to develop coordination, strength, and confidence in their bodies. These activities not only support physical development, but also help with spatial awareness and problem-solving.
In Years 1 and 2, students have been working on their throwing and catching skills, focusing on correct hand positioning, grip, and footwork to improve accuracy and control. Through engaging partner activities, relay games, and small-sided challenges, they are learning to throw at different distances, and develop confidence in their abilities.
Our Year 3 and 4 students have been introduced to the exciting game of tee-ball, where they are learning how to strike a ball off a tee with control and power. They have been focusing on correct batting stance, grip, and swing technique, as well as fielding skills such as catching and throwing. Students have also been developing their understanding of the game’s rules and tactics through small-sided matches, encouraging them to think strategically and work as a team.
Meanwhile, Year 5 and 6 students have been putting their teamwork to the test in a variety of sports, including netball and tee-ball. They have been refining their passing, shooting, and defensive strategies in netball while also learning advanced skills such as positioning and movement off the ball. In tee-ball, they have been working on improving their batting technique, fielding under pressure, and making strategic decisions during gameplay.
It’s been fantastic to see students engaged, active, and developing important physical and teamwork skills. Keep up the great work, everyone!
