Grade 1/2 Liz Grant

It’s very hard to believe that term one is nearly over and what a busy term it has been!

I am so proud of our Grade one/two students and how they have settled into our new learning programs. We begin our day with Literacy (InitiaLit). This teaches children how to read and spell through daily lessons, using research-based teaching methods. It also uses a range of engaging storybooks to develop children’s vocabulary and oral language. During our story books lessons, we have also engaged in art-based activities. At the moment we have been reading ‘Edwina the Emu’ and have painted some pretty crazy looking emus.

What do we like about InitiaLit?

Jasem – ‘I like to play the game Guess my word.’

Laken – ‘I like to do the sound worksheets.’

Dylan – ‘I like our tricky word tree.’

Halle – ‘I like the storybook activities.’

Jasmine – ‘I like writing’

We are looking forward to learning together for the rest of the year!
