Principal's Message

Dear Families,
Welcome to another action-packed edition of our fortnightly newsletter. This is a place to read some of the exciting things happening around the school. Thank you to all families & staff members who have donated to our annual Project Compassion Easter Egg Raffle! We have a growing pile of yummy donations for the upcoming Easter Egg Raffle. Tickets for the raffle were sent home last week - more are available from the office so please pop in and pick up some extras if required.
In Week 10, we will be holding a very special Easter Liturgy in the Father Byrne Hall. We invite all families along. We will be recalling the events of Holy Week. Each class will be presenting an item in remembrance of the sacrifice Jesus made for us all. Please come along (Friday 4th April at 9am).
Last week, staff participated in Emergency Mangement Training which we will be putting into practice this week. On Friday we will be conducting a fire drill. We will be warning children of this upcoming event to help all children be successful with this event. Practicing drills is an important part of learning and helps us to be prepared in the case of a real emergency.
Magnify Sandhurst
I continue to be in absolute awe of our amazingly dedicated teaching group as we continue our Magnify Sandhurst Journey. This journey is requiring a lot of change from our teaching staff and they continue to rise to every challenge. Make sure you pop in and thank your child's classroom teacher in the near future!
Catholic Education Sandhurst has partnered with the following organisations to bring about this extraordinary program:
- Step Lab
- MultiLit
- Knowledge Society
- Ochre Education
Magnify Sandhurst is our evidence-informed science of learning school improvement initiative.
It focuses on how the brain learns, how literacy is effectively taught, uses a low variance, knowledge-rich curriculum, and the creation of positive classrooms. Our practice is calm, predictable, and repeatable to maximise learning time in all classrooms.
Magnify is deliberately bold and wide-ranging, generating whole-of-system improvement.
2026 Enrolments
Foundation enrolments for 2026 have now opened - if you have a sibling attending Our Lady's in 2026, now is the time to act. If you would like to book a tour of the school with your child, please pop into the office to organise a time.
NAPLAN
Our NAPLAN testing window has officially closed! Well done to all the Grade 3 & 5 students for your commitment to participating in these tasks. Everyone showed resilience and determination.
Parking Reminder - White Street
Just a reminder for our parent/s & carer/s who are picking up children at White Street. We have been made aware that sometimes our parents are blocking the driveways of the residents. Please ensure you are parking respectfully to ensure no impact occurs to our neighbours. If you are turning in off Murdoch Road, please avoid using a personal residence driveway to turn around or park in. Children crossing at White Street need to be accompanied by an adult.
URGENT - Enhancing Schools Catholic Identity (ECSI) Survey
We would love your input into the ECSI survey for our school. The ECSI surveys utilise a variety of research features to capture a snapshot of the attitudes among students, teachers, staff, leaders and families towards the foundations of Catholic school identity.
We invite you to complete the survey by 28 March. Please note our school's Survey Access Code is: q23432
Grade 6 Fundraiser - Caritas
Next week, we are asking our community to support our Grade 6 Leaders who have organised a special fundraiser to raise money for Project Compassion. We are asking all students to come along with Crazy Hair on Wednesday the 2nd of April, bringing along a gold coin to donate to caritas. The Grade 6's, with the support of staff, have also organised a special a hotdog lunch. Order forms for this will be coming home today so please check your child's bag. Hotdogs will cost $2.50 (all dietary needs catered for).
Blessings,
Cassie
