Student Engagement Program

Elisabeth Murdoch’s new student engagement program, Gear Change, offers a dynamic approach to learning, giving students the chance to participate in a whole-day Wednesday program. This innovative initiative combines Maths and Literacy in a modified format that encourages active participation. Students also get involved in community-based projects, with one highlight being the Year 7 sports lunchtime program, led by the students themselves.
Gear Change focuses on real-world experiences, allowing students to apply their learning in meaningful ways while fostering creativity and teamwork. The program’s student-led nature empowers participants to take ownership of their learning journey, encouraging critical thinking and collaboration. We’re incredibly proud of how the students have embraced this new style of learning, giving it a go and trying something different.
Gear Change is not just about academics—it’s about nurturing well-rounded, engaged
learners ready to take on the world.
