Principal's Report

Kildare Campus Buses

Families at Kildare Campus will have received communication last week outlining the steps we have taken to improve transport to and from the campus. We have actively lobbied for better services and have engaged with relevant authorities to address these challenges in both Victoria and NSW. Now, we need your help. We urge families to join us in communicating with the government to ensure our students have safe and reliable transportation. Your voice can make a difference please raise your concerns to:

  • Local NSW MP (Helen Dalton - Member for Murray) - murray@parliament.nsw.gov.au
  • NSW Minister for Transport John Graham -  john.graham@parliament.nsw.gov.au

Student Accountability and Community Support

Navigating changing behaviours can sometimes be challenging for our community. Young people inevitably make mistakes - it is part of growing and developing into responsible, high-functioning adults who contribute positively to society. To support their development, we must uphold high standards of accountability while fostering an environment of understanding and care. Every conversation we have with our students should place them at the centre, ensuring they feel supported while also being reminded of appropriate and expected behaviours. Our staff are deeply committed to knowing and caring for each student in their care. Let us focus on kindness, especially in moments of disagreement, and approach each other with respect and a listening heart.

The Benefits of a Catholic Education

Recent findings from the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey reinforce the significant advantages of a Catholic education. Students educated in Catholic schools consistently demonstrate higher levels of engagement, wellbeing and long-term academic success. The data highlights that Catholic school graduates are more likely to be employed, donate to a charity, earn higher wages, work in an industry that directly benefits the public, have better health outcomes and exhibit higher levels of life satisfaction. This reaffirms the importance of our shared mission in nurturing not only the academic but also the spiritual and emotional growth of our students.

"By educating the whole person, Catholic schools support the development of well-rounded individuals who will succeed and be happy and confident in the world during and after their schooling, whatever path they choose through life.”

Celebrating International Women's Day

Last week we proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, recognising the achievements and contributions of women in our community and beyond. A highlight of the occasion was the inspiring presentation by Dalal Smiley, CEO of Wellsprings for Women, who shared powerful insights on leadership, resilience and the impact of strong role models. Her words encouraged our students to embrace their potential and strive for positive change. We thank Dalal for her time and for inspiring our community.

Let us continue working together to foster a supportive and thriving school environment.

God Bless
