PFA News

It’s been a very busy 2 weeks since the last newsletter! We have had a PFA meeting and a Fair committee meeting so lots going on! Thank you to the parents who came along to the meeting/s and brought their energy, ideas and enthusiasm. What a fantastic Term 1 it has been, we really are a fabulous community!

WALKATHON

There was a buzz in the air at Landcox park as the kids walked and waved to HERRRBy as they completed their laps! Thank you to the Year 3 Parent reps who lead the event and made sure everything ran smoothly. Thank you Romy Same, Jana Gelman, Lee-at Jacobsen, Alex Nucette and Amanda Berger for coordinating it all and bringing together a great group of volunteers to set up tables, stamp cards and cut up fruit. 

Thank you to all the parents who helped out on the day. There will be more wonderful people to thank who have donated prizes and helped with other aspects of the walkathon but we will wait until next term to thank them!

Now it’s up to you to help your child get sponsorships. Ask everyone! You have a few weeks to donate your money. Amazing weekly prizes for those who get their money in. Highest fundraisers will be rewarded at the end of the campaign with a scrumptious morning tea at Zest with Ms Hall and Ms Stefsas. 

CALLING ALL MAKERS AND CRAFTERS!

The fair committee is considering adding a handmade crafts stall for the fair, but we need to first find out how creative our school community is! If you're in a position to make and donate something then please email ireen.taufika@gmail.com. Think handmade jewellery, fridge magnets, knitted/crocheted goods, pet rocks - be creative, we're open to any and all ideas! The fair is late in the year so we're giving you plenty of warning and time to get your craft on! 

TERM 2 EVENTS

Second Hand Uniform Shop- Friday 2nd May 3.15pm-3.45pm 

Please note the afternoon time. Eftpos only. All items $5. Lots of sizes in stock so come along and get what you need for Term 2. 

Election Day - Saturday 3rd May

GPS is a voting venue. This is our opportunity to show what a great school we are and make some money. We NEED your help. Please sign up for a shift and help us with our sausage sizzle. We need volunteers to help with set up, bbqing, serving and packing up. This is a WHOLE school event so please help out.

Mothers Day Event 2025 - Thursday 8th May (see attached invite)

The best night of the year! Calling all GPS mums to join us for a night of mingling and being together at The Half Moon in Brighton. This year we are also celebrating how fortunate we are so we are giving back to women in need. HERRRBy Week Celebration - Movie Afternoon

A PFA special family event  - Sunday 15th June. More details next term but save the date as it’s sure to be a fun event!
