Principal News - Term 1 Week 8

Neurodiversity week and Harmony Day

This week we celebrated Neurodiversity week. Students engaged in activities and discussions that reinforced our school values of Respect and Empathy. Teachers shared age-appropriate storybooks and PowerPoint presentations that explained:

  • What Neurodiversity is
  • The importance of valuing and respecting all brains
  • Some of the challenges and strengths associated with being Neurodiverse
  • How we can be inclusive of those around us.

Today we are celebrating Harmony Day with classroom activities exploring our cultural backgrounds, the richness gained from living in a multicultural society, and how we can be kind and inclusive. The Wellbeing Leaders will run some lunchtime activities, and there are splashes and some big displays of orange, the official colour amongst our community for Harmony Day.

Respect, kindness, acceptance, and inclusion are strong themes for both events. All of the activities that students participated in were designed to encourage students to think about how they can contribute to a kinder, more inclusive world as individuals, family members, ENPS members, and members of our wider community.

Assembly

Next Monday we will be holding our first SunSmart assembly at 9:00am on the assembly court. We look forward to seeing you there.

Regional swimming

Yesterday Elara and Daniel proudly represented our school at the regional swimming carnival. Both students performed wonderfully. Daniel represented our school in backstroke and breaststroke whilst Elara represented us in Butterfly. Congratulations to both students on reaching regional level: an outstanding achievement!

School Cross Country

On Tuesday morning years 3-6 students will be participating in our cross-country event. This is another school event where we are so grateful for the support that our families offer to enable us to run events like this helping at various point of the track.. Thank you to Sarah Van for all the work that you put into our carnivals and sports events. A lot of work goes into making the events the successes that they always are and your attention to detail does not go unnoticed.

School tours

We are currently running tours for prospective 2026 foundation enrolments. Details are on the trybooking link on our website so please encourage family and friends who may be thinking about joining our school, to book in for a tour.

It feels like the Fridays keep coming around so quickly and that I am wishing you all a lovely weekend prematurely some weeks! We are quickly approaching the end of term with only two school weeks left! Once again, I wish you a fun weekend with family and friends and hope that you get an opportunity to ‘smell the roses’.
