Engaging in our Faith

Thank you to all the kindergarten and senior families who came to the weekend Parish Mass last Sunday. It was a packed church, and the children were so reverent as they listened to Fr at the front of the altar. Thanks especially to all those who brought morning tea to share afterwards. Our next weekend class Masses will be: -

Sunday 18 May @6 pm Year 3 followed by a free Sunday night "Potluck" dinner!

Sunday 24 August @10.15 am Family Mass with Year 1 & 2 and morning tea.

However, every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month is the designated children's Mass that the Parish celebrates, so you can attend anyone of these too. All faiths welcome!

If you would like to paint the religious dolls that the children use in class, we are having another parent painting session on April 3rd from 12.30 pm. Just turn up! We have had a beautiful group so far, but we are happy to have first timers too.

Want to know more about the Catholic faith, EVEN IF you are Catholic?

Broken Bay have issued "The Catholic Handbook" written particularly for parents in our schools. If you would like a hard copy of one, we have about 20 copies in the office so please let me know if you would like one by emailing me.

Last week because of Lent, a small attentive group of parents participated on a faith walk with art. We started at St Mary's Cathedral and made our way down to the Art Gallery of NSW. It was an Ignatian retreat where we prayed by having spiritual conversations inspired by certain artworks. Holy Family staff will also participate in this in a few weeks' time. During Lent we are invited to spend more time in prayer.

Attending the retreat was a profound and interesting experience, blending spiritual reflection with art helped deepen my faith.” Wenndy - Parent from Year 1.

Mission Moments

At Holy Family, Rice Day was a meaningful event where we gathered in mixed year groups to share rice, symbolising the limited diet of those living in poverty. While sharing this simple meal, we also took the time to learn about the important work of Caritas. This experience not openly fostered a sense of empathy and awareness but also highlighted the significance of solidarity and support from our community for those in need.
