Scoresby Primary School House Cross Country
Today we held our SPS House Cross Country event, where all students had the chance to participate in some distance running and earn points for their house. The course length varied depending on the year level, and it was fantastic to see students dressed in their house colours and trying their best. The delightful autumn weather was a fantastic bonus!
I am very pleased to announce that the winning house for the Cross Country event - in an extremely close competition - was Macarthur, followed by Chisholm in second place, and Cook and Flinders in equal third. The results from this event are included in the aggregate House competition for the year. Well done to all students for their efforts and helping boost their house's score.
For students in Years 3-6, it was also a chance to earn a place on our school's District Cross Country team, and there was some keen competition amongst those eager for a spot. The students who will be representing SPS at District Cross Country on Friday 16th May will be announced soon.
Many thanks to parents Ruth Liew, Kristy Davies, Mel Murphy and her son Leroy, and Felicity Wallace for helping with the event. Such a big whole-school event needs lots of extra supervision, and we are very grateful for your time and assistance.
