Principal's Message
From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 1, Week 9
Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,
Congratulations K/1B
Congratulations to the students in K/1B who have shown 100% attendance at school. In the last 4 weeks your class has shown to be 99 - 100% attendance each day. Keep up the good work.
Behaviour Focus
Each week we focus on a particular behaviour to ensure our students know what is expected each and every day. Those students who achieve the behaviour focuses receive over and above awards to fill their rewards chart.
Our behaviour focus for Week 9 is Respectful - "Get Along and Respect Personal Spaces"
We know we are successful when:
4/5/6W Science & Engineering Challenge
Our students in 4/5/6W went to the TREC last Friday, 21st March to participate in the Science & Engineering Challenge held by the Light House Rotary and UNE Newcastle. This was a fantastic experience for our students to get involved with hands on experiments in the world of science and engineering.
K/2 Excursion to "The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show"
We had some very excited students in K/2 as they head to the Capitol Theatre today to watch "The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show". We look forward to hearing all about the show on their return.
School Assembly
Due to a clash with the Coal Miner's Cup this Friday, we have had to move our School Assembly to next Friday, 4th April at 2:15pm. We welcome all to attend. Our 2/3O class will be presenting an item and we will have some students in Years 3-6 who will be showing their skills in public speaking.
ANZAC March
This year ANZAC Day will fall in the Term Break. Werris Creek Public School will be marching at the Annual ANZAC March and Ceremony in Werris Creek on Friday, 25th April 2025. We invite all of our students to join us in Marching and to meet our staff at the Old Butcher Shop on the corner of Coronation Avenue and Single Street at 10:45am dressed in full school sports uniform.
Turn Up Awards
To encourage our students to attend school every day we have introduced the "Turn Up" award. Each day your child attends their name will be entered into the draw to receive a canteen voucher capped at $7.00. A voucher will be issued each week to each class. If your child attends 5 times in that week they have 5 entries. If they attend two days in that week they have 2 entries. Our winners for Week 6 are:
K/1B - Mathilda
2/3O - Grace
4/5/6W - Lachy
Congratulations, you will each receive a canteen voucher to enjoy a free lunch from the Canteen this Friday.
Kind regards
Kathy Nott
