Principal's Report
Dear Families,
Welcome to our Spring newsletter. As we approach the end of the academic year I would like to highlight some of the amazing events and achievements of our students.
Senior School Exams – Congratulations to our Year 11 and Year 12 students who have now completed their end of year exams. Our students and staff have worked extensively to complete the required course work and prepare for exams. Although this can be a stressful time I would like to acknowledge the professionalism and support of our senior school staff as well as the amazing effort our students have continued to display.
This term we were lucky enough to have the Premier of Victoria - Jacinta Allan, along with Minister for Suburbs - Sonya Kilkenny, and Member for Thomastown - Bronwyn Halfpenny come and visit ECSC to announce a new Growth Area Infrastructure Contribution (GAIC) fund. Being one of the great schools which have been developed and built from this fund, we were delighted to have been able to showcase Edgars Creek Secondary College to these change makers!
The outcome of the review identified the importance of continuing our very positive improvement in the following areas over the next four years:
- Optimise learning achievement and growth for all students
- Strengthen the positive culture and climate for learning for all students
- Enhance student wellbeing outcomes
These recommendations have been included in our College Strategic Plan. We have already made huge progress on our Positive Climate for Learning. This year we have focused on implementing our First Five, Last Five model which highlights expected behaviours and processes from both staff and students each session. You will also start to see our School Wide Positive Behaviour (SWPB) expectations being displayed around the college. Our expectations have been designed for a variety of locations around the college, and highlights our expected behaviours at Edgars Creek Secondary College.
If you don’t already, make sure that you follow our social media accounts to keep up to date with all the amazing events at the college.
