Welcome back to the start of Term 4. I trust all students had a well-earned rest and have come back recharged to finish the term off well to position themselves as best as possible for 2025.
Course Selections 2025
The course selection process at the College is quite different to that of a normal school, as students who attend the College have already made some choices regarding their career pathway, by virtue of enrolling at the College. Students will only need to choose a pathway and focus area that has the subjects predetermined and selected.
I will be having a session with each of the Year 10 and 11 groups during their class timetable next week. An online information session will take place on Thursday 17th October at 6.00 pm for all current parents/carers, new students and their parents/carers too. A link will be provided next week to enable parents/carers to join. For those unable to join in on the evening, a recording will be available following the session.
Students, along with their parents/carers, will then need to complete an online form for their course selections for 2025. This will be made available from Friday 18th October and is to be completed by Tuesday 22nd October 8.00am.
OLNA
The OLNA results were made available to the school this week. Students who sat any one of the three OLNA components this round were provided with a copy of their updated OLNA progress this week. Parents/carers will be able to access their child’s OLNA results from a link which will be provided via email, similar to how school reports would normally be accessed.
On a personal note, this weekend I am riding in the MACA200 bike ride to raise money for Cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute. The ride starts at Optus Stadium on Saturday with an overnight stay in Mandurah before the return ride back to Optus Stadium on Sunday. This is my third time riding.
Greer Mahony, a Year 11 student, is also doing the ride, along with approximately another 2000 riders. The plan is to be back at work on Monday having successfully completed the ride – hope the body and bike both hang in there.
Have a great weekend!
