Vocal Showcase -Semester 2 

On Thursday the 17th of October, MGC hosted our 2024 Semester 2 Vocal Showcase. It was a night celebrating MGC’s vocal talent from students in Years 7 to 12, with performances from musical theatre songs to Whitney Houston to our finale performance of “All Star” by Smash Mouth (yes, that song from ‘Shrek’) with everyone. The A’capella choir, led by Susan de Jong, performed Billy Joel’s classic, “River of Dreams” which was arranged by Pip Castaldo in Year 10!   

Thank you to our wonderful year 12 students –Meg Chapman, Sophie Moutray-Read, Violet Peake, Paris Vagias, Olivia Hall and Charlotte Gilbo - who performed the night before their final assembly, and after their day of final classes and a (very messy) colour run!   

Thank you to our wonderful MC – and tech support – Audrey Ahmed (Year 11 and Senior Music Captain) and to our amazing vocal teachers - Susan De Jong, Belinda Foster and Ellyce Calder and to the person who makes everything happen, Anne Corry. Further thanks to Ms. Mumme’s Year 10 Event Management students, Maiya Colberg-Scott, Isabel Latorre, and Tilly Waters for organising the poster, program and lighting for the event.
