MGC Parents' Association - Staff Thank You Morning Tea

The MGC Parents' Association once again hosted a morning tea to thank all the staff at MGC for their hard work and dedication in educating and supporting our students. 

The staff were extremely grateful to be treated before the last week of term, with a beautiful array of delicious food. Thanks to the fabulous PA team Julie, Alison and Kirsty for coordinating this wonderful event and a big thank you to our wonderful school community who contributed to this event.

MGC Year Level Coffee Mornings

The Parent Association Year Level Ambassadors arranged some coffee morning catchups in Term 3 with, our Year 9 Parents/carers catching up on the last day of term. We hope to plan a final one for each year level in Term 4!

Parents’ Association Grants Scheme 

Thank you to Staff and Students who submitted applications for our Annual Grants Scheme. There have been some wonderful submissions, and the PA have been working through all information provided and expect to announce successful candidates in November.

How to contribute to the Parents’ Association through the 2025 school fees and support our Grants Scheme

The generous financial donations we receive from families through fundraising and the school contributions enables the PA the ability to offer teaching staff and student groups the chance to apply for funding for ‘extra’ opportunities. These grants benefit students within the school where these programs or equipment could not readily go ahead or be purchased without assistance from the Parents Association. Recent grants have contributed to: Waste reduction equipment; French Dictionaries; Rowing equipment; Outdoor Education waterproof jackets & gaiters; STEAM Robots & Heat Press; Bass Clarinet for music program; and Digital SLR cameras for Visual Arts. The 2024 grants applications have been received by the Parents’ Association and we are excited to announce these in November.

To contribute to the ongoing work of the Parents’ Association and the Annual Grants Scheme, it is important to indicate this through the Lead and Achieve tick box on your 2025 Financial contributions. The MGC Parents’ Association plays a valuable role in our students’ educational experience by building connections and community and providing assistance where we can. We thank you for all your contributions and support.

MGC Parent Involvement 

Are you interested in a role at the MGC Parents’ Association? The MGC Parents’ Association has several positions still vacant for parents and carers interested to help us support our school’s community. Our vacant roles are listed below.

MGC PA VACANCIES - JULY 2024

• Events coordinator
• Year level parents/guardian ambassadors – Years 7,10 and 11
• Governance Manager
• Grants Coordinator
• Sponsorship Coordinator

If you are interested in helping but are very busy, this year we have established working groups where you can get involved in a specific task supporting our main activities. For example, you can help support setting up a particular event like the upcoming Mother’s Day morning tea or can help us prepare a poster to promote our actions from the community survey we conducted last year.
