From our Parents' Committee
Dear CJC community,
We hope everyone has settled back into school well, and you are looking forward to a fun-filled Term 4 with the end of year party on Friday 6th December – save the date!
As always, there are lots of exciting events planned, and we rely on the school community to volunteer to make them as special as possible. Details are below, and all help is greatly appreciated.
Diwali
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is one of the most celebrated Hindu festivals, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Traditionally observed over five days, it involves vibrant celebrations that include lighting oil lamps, decorating homes with colourful rangoli, exchanging gifts, and indulging in delicious sweets. Families gather for prayers to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. The festival fosters a spirit of unity, joy, and renewal, inviting everyone to embrace hope and prosperity in the coming year. Come and join us to have some of the Diwali delicacies at CJC this year on Friday 25th October.
There will be Lassi, Samosas and Milk Cake for sale. All funds raised will go towards the new senior playground. Volunteers are needed to help set up and sell the treats and pack up. Please enter your details in the volunteer sheet here.
Diwali celebrations will replace Friday treats for the 25th.
End of Year Party – Friday, 6 December
As Term 4 begins, the Parent’s Committee is once again preparing for the EOYP on 6 December. The date has been set and the rides are booked, and now we need to plan the other aspects of the party. We are looking for people to assist with coordinating the following activities:
- Silent Auction –sourcing prizes and uploading to the Galabid software program. If you start now, it would only require 1 - 2 hrs per week.
- EOYP Parent’s Bar – To successfully run the bar, we need additional support of parents to transport equipment and stock to and from our supplier. If you could volunteer your time and the use of a ute or suitable vehicle this would greatly aid the running of the parent’s bar.
- Food – can you assist with coordinating the food offering?
Silent Auction – Donations sought
Do you have an item that you could donate to the silent auction – it could be an item, voucher, service or experience. Please get in touch if you are able to assist at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com
