Board Game Club

Join us each fortnight as we take a closer look at one of the recess and lunchtime clubs on offer.

Please see updated Clubs Timetables for the remainder of Term Four.

This week, we visited the Board Game Club, run by the Year Two teaching team.

This club offers students a unique blend of fun and personal growth. It provides a space for social interaction, fosters critical thinking and creativity, and enhances emotional intelligence through teamwork and competition. Students can unwind and relieve stress while building valuable skills like leadership and goal setting. Overall, a board game club not only enriches their school experience but also helps create a supportive community where diverse friendships can flourish.

1. Social Interaction

Board game clubs create a fun environment for students to meet new people and build friendships. Engaging in games encourages communication and teamwork, helping students develop their social skills.

2. Critical Thinking and Strategy

Many board games require strategic planning and problem-solving. Participating in these activities enhances critical thinking abilities, as students must evaluate their options and make decisions under pressure.

3. Creativity and Imagination

Board games often involve storytelling or creative thinking. Players can express their imagination, leading to increased creativity that can benefit them in academics and other activities.

4. Emotional Intelligence

Games often involve competition and collaboration, allowing students to learn about empathy, sportsmanship, and managing emotions. This helps build resilience and improves interpersonal relationships.

5. Stress Relief

Board games provide a fun and engaging way to unwind from the pressures of schoolwork. They offer a healthy distraction and can help reduce anxiety and stress.

You will find the Colouring Club for Timetable A in 2D's classroom on Tuesday recess and will be hosted by Mrs Fowler, Miss D, Miss McWilliams, Mr James, Miss Assaf and Ms Lang.
