Student Leadership
Dear Saltwater Community,
Our Student Leaders have been working hard to implement their actions recently.
To improve attendance and ensure students are aware of when classroom doors open, they have been creating a morning playlist. This will begin shortly, where music will play for a short time at 8:20am to signify to students when it is time to make their way to class. This is very exciting for our Student Leadership team and we hope you enjoy the calming sounds to come!
Additionally, the Student Leaders have almost completed their ‘How to Use the Toilets Appropriately’ video. This action has been a long time coming and I congratulate them for their efforts. The videos will be played within all classrooms and unpacked by teachers to encouraged to use the bathroom correctly. They have also begun ‘Toilet Patrol’, where they support yard duty teachers to monitor the toilets and ensure they stay clean.
Lastly, in our Student Leadership meetings, we are beginning to analyse the Attitudes to School Survey. We are proud of our results here at Saltwater and students have many positive thoughts about our school. But as leaders, our students recognise there is always room for improvement! So moving forward in the next couple of weeks, we will begin finding common themes and areas that we would like to take action towards before the end of 2024.
Our Student Leaders are passionate about their role and responsibilities. Ms Grenfell and I continue to be blown away by their attitudes and desire to help our school community.
Students at Saltwater, please continue to reach out to your Student Leaders to allow your voice to be heard!
Kind regards,
Noah Mernik
