Celebrating Chevalier Day and World Teachers’ Day
Dear Chevalier College Community
On the same day that we celebrate Chevalier Day in our school community, Australia also celebrates World Teachers' Day. It is a special moment of alignment, as we honour not only the legacy of Jules Chevalier but also the extraordinary teachers who carry forward his vision of compassion, kindness, and love through their daily work at our College.
Chevalier Day is a time to reflect on the mission and values that define us, reminding us of our shared commitment to nurture, guide, and support the students entrusted to our care. It is a day when we pause to acknowledge the foundations of our school, grounded in the MSC ethos, and celebrate the sense of family and belonging that makes Chevalier College so unique.
At the same time, World Teachers' Day offers us the opportunity to extend our gratitude to the teachers who shape the future, not just within our school but across the nation and the world. At Chevalier, our teachers go beyond the academic. They inspire, mentor, and foster the holistic development of each student - instilling values, self-regulation, and resilience. Their work is grounded in the same spirit that Jules Chevalier envisioned: to Be on Earth the Heart of God.
This dual celebration gives us a powerful reminder of how intertwined our mission is with the global call to support and uplift educators. As we celebrate our teachers on this day, we also recognize the importance of ensuring they have the resources, professional learning opportunities and community support to continue their transformative work.
To our teachers, thank you for the dedication, passion and love you pour into every moment. You are the heart of Chevalier College, and your influence reaches far beyond the classroom, touching the lives of every student and family in our community.
As we come together on this special day, I invite each of you - students, parents, and families - to join in acknowledging and celebrating our teachers for the remarkable work they do.
With gratitude and blessings
Greg Miller
Principal

Sports team permission notes are now overdue. Students will not be permitted to participate in training, games, or travel without a completed permission note.
Permission notes can be accessed via Parent Orbit/Events and Payments.
The Home and Away Schedule for the Summer 24/25 season has now been uploaded to Parent Orbit.
Please check the schedule carefully to ensure that your child fulfils their commitment to their sporting team.
As outlined in the season information and permission note, attendance at all training sessions and games is compulsory unless a student is absent due to illness. Please assist your child in upholding this commitment by scheduling non-urgent appointments and family events to ensure they can attend training and games.
ISA Round 1 is Saturday 26 October. Team fixtures and bus information can be found in the Parent Lounge and on the Parent Orbit app under School Links >> Extra Curricular.
IMPORTANT: We aim to have the fixtures and bus times uploaded to School Links by Wednesday each week. Please check the fixtures on a Friday afternoon/evening for any last minute changes to bus times and/or game cancellations.
All buses will leave from the bus zone on Charlotte Street. Students leaving the College should be dropped off in the JFC car park.
There are a small number of opportunities for boys in Years 7 - 8 and girls in Years 9-12 to join a Touch Football team for the summer season. Students interested should see Coach Phillips.
