Food For Families

As Christmas approaches, we will be running our annual Food For Families drive again. Boxes will be set up in the office foyer for those wishing to donate non perishable good for families in need from Friday 1st November.

Or you can set yourself a 30 day challenge and participate in the Reverse Advent Calendar, where instead of receiving a treat each day, you donate the item listed on the flyer below each day instead.

Congratulations to all the junior school students who competed in the cross country event yesterday. It was a successful morning and we loved watching everyone complete the course and gain house points!

Thankyou to all the support we received in the lead up and on the day, without our volunteers, these events cannot happen. Special mention to Chris who ran at the head of every single race!! Amazing effort!

Well done to Keiwa house, coming 1st place for the day on 195 points, followed by Yarra house on 184, Campaspe house on 183 and Ovens house on 180. Great effort from all students!!

Performing Arts

CHPS Choir was invited to close the entertainment at the Maroondah Children’s Week Twilight Picnic. Some very tired year 3’s came straight from camp to perform. The Maroondah Council were delighted to hear our choir sing a range of songs from Style by Taylor Swift, to Ready for the Sky by Australian Indigenous singer/songwriter Budjerah, to some true choral works such as Brolga Dance and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Our Choir did it all.

Picnic goers, parents and council members alike were absolutely astounded at the quality of our performance, the size our Choir has grown to and the enthusiasm of our students. We look forward to growing our Choral program next year to expand into Two choirs. A Pop choir and a Traditional Show choir/Music Literacy extension program. For now you can catch our choir at the following events, hopefully some will be inspired to join one of our Choir’s next year.

Saturday 7t December - Maroondah Carols - Croydon Town Park

Wednesday 11th December - CHPS Christmas Concert - CHPS Amphitheatre (Main oval)

Tuesday 17th December  - Eastland EOY Performance - Eastland Christmas Tree

Allergies & Antihistamines

With Spring in full swing, we are seeing an increase in students presenting with allergy symptoms.  If your child suffers from hayfever or grass allergies, can you please ensure they are given a dose of an antihistamine before school, particularly on days they have sport.
