UNIT 4 VISUAL COMMUNICATION

MR JEREMY WOOD - VISUAL COMMUNICATION TEACHER

Firstly, I would like to congratulate students studying Unit 3/4 Visual Communication. It was a 'Brave New World' as this year marked the first year of a new study design. Secondly, the quality of the design problems was markedly intriguing. Each student confidently explored a diverse range of human-centred design problems before settling on two for their major folio assessment. The best part of Term 3 was spent developing their solutions and testing them. They were then required to devise and deliver a pitch of one design concept for each of their two communication needs and document their feedback. Students then refined and resolved their final concepts into two distinct final presentation formats. What was pleasing to see was the dedication shown by all students and the open and honest conversations they had with their peers as they gave encouragement and feedback to one another on their concepts.
