Class Snapshot (Japanese)
Welcome back to Term 4, we have started an animal unit in Japanese class, however I wanted to use this opportunity to show some of our snapshots from Japanese Fun Day from Term 3.
We had a fun filled day, full of activities on Japanese Fun Day and everyone had a great experience. We had an Origami activity (Samurai hat), Onigiri (rice ball) making, Taiko session (Japanese Drum), Kendama (Japanese traditional toy) competition and Hanabi (Fire work) designs workshops.
Grades 5 and 6 leaders helped and supported most of these activities this year from booklet design and making posters for the instruction of Samurai hats.
Thank you so much for coming to watch the costume parades at the beginning of the Japanese Fun Day. I especially would like to thank Jael (Frida's Mum) for coming to help prepare for the cooking lessons.
After the parade all the students were back to their class to have Samurai Hat Origami activity with Origami leaders. While Cooking assistants were getting ready in the staffroom kitchen for Onigiri making.
The winner of the Grand Final for Kendama Competiton for this year was April from Grades 4/5. Congratulations! Costume Awards for 2024 were Evie from P/1, Emma from Grade 2/3, Rory from Grade 4/5, and Abi from Grade 5/6.
I would like to thank everyone who made this day so special and I know it is not easy making those costumes for your children. Thank you.
Hope you enjoy those snapshots from Japanese Fun Day and I am looking forward to planning another great day with our new leaders for next year.
