Yr 9 RAID

A City Adventure to Remember!

Our Year 9 students had an unforgettable time on the annual RAID Camp, held from Wednesday 3rd to Thursday 4th September. Over two action-packed days, students explored Melbourne and took part in a variety of educational, cultural, and fun experiences.

Day one kicked off with visits to the Shrine of Remembrance and the National Gallery of Victoria, where students learned more about history, art, and culture. The excitement continued at the Eureka Skydeck, where everyone was wowed by the breathtaking views of Melbourne from above.

That evening, the group enjoyed plenty of laughs and friendly competition at Strike Bowling and Laser Tag, before winding down with a screening of Fantastic Four.

On day two, students embraced the buzz of the Queen Victoria Market, soaking up the atmosphere and exploring the stalls. The camp wrapped up on a high note with an adrenaline-filled session of indoor rock climbing, where students challenged themselves and cheered each other on.

The camp was a wonderful mix of learning, teamwork, and adventure – and a great opportunity for our Year 9s to create lasting memories together.

RAID Excursion – IMAX & Melbourne Museum

On Tuesday 17th September, our Year 9 students enjoyed an exciting RAID excursion to the Melbourne Museum and IMAX.

We began the day with the film Africa 3D on the IMAX’s giant screen. The immersive documentary gave students the chance to experience the wildlife and landscapes of Africa in a way that almost made us feel like we were there.

Afterwards, students explored several exhibitions at the Melbourne Museum. Highlights included the Triceratops Exhibition, where we came face-to-face with one of the most complete triceratops fossils ever discovered. The Forest Walk provided a chance to step into a living ecosystem inside the museum, while the My Melbourne Exhibition encouraged students to reflect on the city’s rich history and diverse stories.

It was a wonderful day of learning, discovery, and shared experiences. Our students represented the school with respect and curiosity, making the excursion a great success.
