A message from Cheryl
Are you grateful for the little things in your life?
Continuing our theme of gratitude, some of our students in our Monday lunchtime activity/art group completed an activity describing what they are grateful for, using the letters of the word Gratitude.
It was very interesting to see the children thinking 'outside of the box' about small and large things they were grateful for.
Spending some time considering the little things (e.g a simple smile, a small act of kindness, a word of encouragement, a cup of tea) to be grateful for, and not take them for granted, is a worthwhile activity.

Can you spare some time?
We are reaching out to seek volunteers to assist with changing students' readers or listening to students read on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the students and support their literacy development.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact the school office at your earliest convenience. Your support and involvement are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to contribute to our school community.
Thank you, Victor!
Have you seen one of the Spotted Pardalote birds down by the bases? Victor Simpson has noticed two of the beautiful, endangered birds living in our school yard. Thank you so much to Victor for donating a birdhouse for these birds to nest in safely. If you see them, please be very quiet.
Chess
Hi everyone, this is a video, about chess club on Thursday at second lunch run by Stephen, Klara, Tilly and Gus. Could you please chat to your kids about potentially coming and giving it a go, it is super fun and not really competitive. You can have a chat and play at the same time, it’s also a good way to make friends with people who aren’t in you class.
Klara, Tilly and Gus
Thank you
We are delighted to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rozanne Andrew for their generous donation of a beautiful handmade blanket to our front office. This thoughtful gift not only adds warmth and comfort to our space but also reflects the spirit of community and kindness that we cherish at Uraidla Primary School. The blanket has already become a cherished addition, providing a welcoming touch to everyone who visits our office.
Uraidla Primary Facebook Group
If you haven’t already heard about it, there is a Facebook group for UPS families and we welcome everyone to join (parents/grandparents/carers all welcome). Look for “Uraidla Primary School Families” and answer the 3 simple questions on your connection to the school. This group is a friendly way to find the answers for those questions you may have (e.g. when your child tells you at the last minute its casual day tomorrow, and you can’t remember hearing about it from school!), to get reminders on events coming up, find your lost property!, or a way to connect with other families.
It is not run by the school but is supported by the UPS Governing Council and admin (Jodi Braley) will post information regularly. It is designed to be a group with input from all – so contribute in any way you want to. If you do have a question that you don’t want to post yourself, feel free to forward to Jodi (either by facebook message, email jodi.braley@hotmail.com, or in person at school), who is more than happy to help.
Enrolment in Reception
If you have a child turning 5 in the next 12 months, they should have already enrolled to start school. Children either start school at the start of the year or in July, depending on their age.
Our school has now reached capacity, which means that we give priority enrolment to children in our catchment area. Please note that younger siblings of existing students are guaranteed enrolment.
If you are speaking to other families about enrolling in school, they can find their local school through the Find My School website: Find a school zone or preschool catchment area (education.sa.gov.au)
Enrolments for the start of 2026 were due by the end of term 2.
If you are still unsure or interested in booking a school tour please contact the office on 8390 3209 and book into one of the below time slots.
