As we move through an exciting and eventful Term 3, our school community has had plenty of reasons to celebrate.  From sporting excellence to spectacular performances and important decisions for the future, here's a look at some of the highlights that have made this term one to remember.

A Night of Elegance: The 2025 Debutante Ball

On Saturday evening, 23rd of August, the Red Cliffs Secondary College community gathered to celebrate a much-anticipated event on the school calendar – the 2025 Debutante Ball. Held at Club Da Vinci, the night was a beautiful blend of tradition, style, and celebration, as our debutants were formally presented to family, friends, and members of the wider community.

Dressed in classic white gowns and sharp suits, the debutantes and their partners made a stunning entrance under the soft glow of chandeliers and the buzz of proud applause. After weeks of dance rehearsals and preparation, the couples performed a series of elegant ballroom dances with confidence, grace, and a few happy nerves – all of which added to the charm of the evening.

I would like to thank everyone that attended the event, our proud families and dedicated staff.  A sincere thank you goes to our Deb organiser - Carlie Tierney, our dance instructor -  Megan, support staff, and volunteers who brought the evening to life. Your time, effort, and care did not go unnoticed.

To our debutantes and their partners – congratulations on a night to remember. Your elegance, respect, and enthusiasm made this Deb Ball one of the best yet.

House Athletics Day – Spirited and Spectacular!

Athletics Day was held on the 21st of August at the Aero Ovals Little Athletics complex. The day was packed with colour, energy, and friendly competition as students across all year levels came together to represent their house with pride. Whether sprinting down the track, soaring through long jump, or cheering from the sidelines, every student played a part in the vibrant atmosphere. Special congratulations to the winning house Terragong and to all staff and students who gave it their all! A special thank-you to Mr. T and the P.E. department to ensure this day ran smoothly.

Junior Boys Basketball – Small Team, Big Effort

Our Junior Boys basketball team showed determination and great teamwork during their recent interschool matches. Despite being a smaller team than most of their competitors, they demonstrated impressive skill and sportsmanship. The boys should be proud of their effort and the way they represented the school with pride and resilience.

Taking Part in 'The Beat' – Talent on Stage

Our talented students in the school band had the incredible opportunity to participate in The Beat, a regional performing arts showcase celebrating dance, music, and drama. Their performances were nothing short of spectacular, and it was wonderful to see our school represented in a high-calibre event. Well done to all involved!

Year 9 Subject Selections – Looking Ahead

Our Year 9 students are currently preparing to step into the next stage of their learning journey with Year 9 subject selections. This is an exciting time, as students begin to tailor their education to their interests and future goals. Families are encouraged to talk through the options together and reach out to staff if support is needed in making decisions. The future is bright for our upcoming Year 10s!
