Year 11 Food Studies

The Year 11 Food Studies class busily made multiple batches of cookies to sell at the Athletics Day Carnival.

Year 12 VCE VM Personal Development Skills - Car Wash

The carpark at St Anne’s College turned into a makeshift car wash this week as our Year 12 VCE VM Personal Development Skills class took to the pressure washer, sponges and chamois.

It was all in the name of raising funds, with staff and students on their P-plates providing a gold coin donation to have their cars washed.

Their skills were really put to the test when washing a prize-winning Holden vehicle, cherished by one of our staff members which came up so shiny we could see our reflection in it!

Congratulations Alyssa!

Year 8 student Alyssa will have her artwork featured in Greater Shepparton's upcoming youth art exhibition Disruption!

The bold new immersive exhibition is coming to Shepparton this October.

Alyssa's artwork was selected by a panel of young people. As part of the exhibition, it will be digitised and brought to life through large-scale animated projections, created by a professional animator with major exhibition experience.

We can't wait to see Alyssa's amazing artwork as part of Disruption!

Congratulations Parmis!

A huge congratulations to Year 9 student Parmis who was awarded third place at the 8th Melbourne Pacific Piano Open Competition in the 14 years and under section recently.

This is such a fantastic achievement and we are so very proud of Parmis!

Ran by the East West Arts Association, the competition sees competitors from across the globe take part in a variety of different classes.

Year 12 Biology

Last week, our Year 12s explored the fascinating (and slightly gross!) world of microbes and antibacterial resistance. Armed with swabs, they tested surfaces around the school to see what would grow on their culture plates.

Let’s just say… some staff desks weren’t quite as clean as we thought… and student phone screens? Even worse! (Another great reason to keep them in lockers!)

Students also honed their aseptic technique and investigated the effectiveness of different antibiotics on e.coli and Staphylococcus bacteria, a real-world look at how science helps us fight infections.

Year 12 PE - Aquamoves

The Year 12 PE class is taking part in training sessions at Aquamoves every Friday. Last week they completed a circuit which included six different stations. The students were required to do intense work and rest in between each station.

This week, the students did a Body Pump session, which involved exercises using weights.  Lunges, Squats, Rows, Clean & Press, Dead Lifts are some of the exercises that were performed.  Thanks again to Scotty from Aquamoves for his coaching during these sessions.

Reminder: Leave Pass Protocol

Parents/carers are reminded there is a very important process to follow if your student must leave the college at any time throughout school hours. Please ensure you follow these steps:

Parents/carers MUST provide a note to the front office, at the start of the school day, stating the following:

- Student Name

- Date of leave required

- The time the student must present to reception to take their leave

- If they will return to the college the same day, and if so what time they will return

- The reason for the leave being requested

- The parent/carer’s name and signature

Please note, students will only be permitted to be collected by their parent/carer unexpectedly and without a note if it is an emergency.

Uniform reminder

Students are expected to wear full academic uniform on non-PE days.

This includes a knitted jumper and/or blazer for Year 10-12 students and a softshell jacket or knitted jumper for Year 7-9 students.

Students are not permitted to wear long sleeve tops underneath their academic shirts or PE t-shirts in lieu of wearing a jumper or for PE the rugby top.

For modesty, female students should be in the long winter skirt or pants with the long-sleeve academic shirt (blouse), jumper and/or blazer. Students are not permitted to wear the summer dress with layers underneath.

Please ensure you purchase any required items over the term break.

Any questions or concerns please contact Mez Lia, Rohan Lelliott or Sarah Baglin.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation regarding this.

Reminder: Year 7 Immunisations

Parents/carers are reminded there will be immunisations for Year 7 students on the following date:

  • September 8 - Year 7 Immunisations (HPV and Boostrix), from 9:15am onsite at St Anne's College

Parents/carers will be sent a letter with further information as your student's immunisation date approaches as well as a link to the online form which you are required to complete.
