Pacific Islands Stories

As we return to class for term three we have begun our Main Lesson of Pacific Island Stories. Many of the characters in these stories will reflect the cheeky nature you may have noticed in your children this year, with children tricking gods, children not listening to authority figures and characters having great curiosities. The morals of these stories should guide them to recognise that with caution and mistakes they are old enough to try new things, but to hopefully see the helping hand that their elders and caregivers can provide. Below are some examples of a painting we did in relation to a story about the great Maui learning how to make fire.

We also were a part of a gardening incursion that you should read the mainstream 3/4 section to learn about as well.
