Numeracy

In Maths, students have been making, naming and ordering numbers to 20 and beyond. We are exploring the language of location through direction, following turns and counting steps to locate hidden items in the classroom.

Outdoor Play-Based Learning (PBL)

As a response to our colder days, the games club has moved to hot and sweaty games with tag the popular choice. Fairy houses with intricate details and well thought out design layouts are also prominent throughout play. Lenny’s fairy garden became a whole class collaboration as students offered findings to be included in his detailed world.

Here are some more activities and observations that have been happening in our garden this week:

"This is a dragon you know" - Percy

"And I’m controlling the dragon and telling it which way to go" - Max

"You can’t control dragons!" - Percy

"It’s a mud castle" -Nour

"It’s gonna be a mud castle for the fairies – the fairies will love it" - Tegan

"I wonder how it’s going to dry. It was my idea to put dirt on top to dry it out" - Rune
