10B Debaters through to CSDA Grand Final

Huge congratulations to our 10B debaters who beat rivals Christian Brothers High School, Lewisham in a close debate last Friday here at St Patrick’s College. The semi-final team comprised Christian Mouawad as first speaker, Nino Di Girolamo as second speaker and Roman Petrolo as third speaker. The boys have been supported across the season by the other members of the 10B team, Zachary Crisafulli, Pablo Doherty and Isaac Nigro, who ensured they progressed through all elimination rounds to get to the finals. To get to the Grand Final, the 10Bs have had to win 10 of 11 debates across the season.

We would also like to thank all those who came out to support the boys last Friday. There were over 70 spectators - we had to move the debate from a classroom to the McGlade Library. The students in attendance on the night, many of whom moved from debating duties to the Winter Sleepout, were superb ambassadors for the College, serving as guides, chairpersons and timekeepers as we hosted several other schools for the CDSA Semi-finals.

All are welcome to attend the CSDA Grand Final to be held at ACU, Strathfield. Formalities commence at 6:00 PM and debates from 7:00 PM. We would love to have as much support for our talented speakers as possible. See you there!
