A Memorable School Barbeque: A Triumph of Community Spirit!

Last Saturday, despite an early morning drizzle that threatened to dampen our spirits, the Year 9 Supporters’ Day Barbeque emerged as a resounding success, filled with laughter, delicious food, and a vibrant sense of community. The sun made a timely appearance, gracing us with perfect weather for an afternoon of enjoyment and camaraderie.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to the incredible parents/carers whose hard work and dedication turned a potentially rainy day into a joyful celebration. Without their contributions, this event would not have been possible.

A huge shoutout to our barbeque maestros - Jason Auland, Matt Wheeler, and Nick Dinham—who manned the grill with unparalleled skill and enthusiasm. Your dedication ensured that everyone enjoyed a feast of mouth-watering delights.

We also extend our gratitude to our barista wizards, Lynette Trainor and Dione Fague. Their expertly crafted coffee creations kept everyone energised and delighted throughout the day.

The day’s success was further ensured by the outstanding efforts of many others who pitched in. Thank you to Maria Savoca, Lina Bartorilla, Hae-Jung Kim, Allison Dinham, Monica Darlow, Damian Bridge, Lorenza Lamalfa, Roxanne Chow, Yolla Bressa, Tess Burnicle, Jenny Germanos, Jeanette Biscotto, Caroline Gainsford, Belinda Malone, Sally Edwards, Vanessa Boys, Nora Francis, Louise Calleja, Kathy Jeitani, Nerida Shipley, Caroline Chahine, Alison Auland, Don Stewart, and Nicola Chatfield. Your hard work and enthusiasm made the day run smoothly and joyfully.

We’d like to give a special mention to Gemma Donnegan and Claire Hassen for the delectable treats they baked. Your delicious creations added a sweet touch to our gathering and were enjoyed by all.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Supporters’ Days! On Saturday 10 August, we will be celebrating Year 8, and of course, we have our much-anticipated “Back to Breen” event on 17 August. We’ll be sharing links and further details soon, so stay tuned to help us make these events as wonderful as our barbeque!
