What's happening?

We're Getting a New Playground!

Today our playground had a temporary fence erected around it so that the pieces that are being replaced can be removed next week. After this, a new set of equipment and a nest swing will be installed. This is something we have been saving for over a period of time and was chosen following a student vote during term 1. It's going to be so exciting to have something new to play on in our yard really soon!

SAPSASA Wrap-up

We have had a very busy SAPSASA schedule this term and our students have achieved some great results, as well as participating to their best.

At the athletics carnival, everyone tried extremely hard all day with some wet and windy conditions at Bridgestone Athletics Centre. We had some pleasing results throughout the day with Alex finishing first in her three events, Archer first in shot put, Ranoday second in 100m and Tex finishing third in 100m. All four students have qualified for the Salisbury East Athletics Team to compete in the state carnival in September. Congratulations!

Both Boys and Girls Basketball teams competed strongly at the St Clair Recreation Centre in week 3. The boys squad came away with two wins and a draw from their six games and the girls managing a win and two draws from their games. The students from both teams showed tremendous sportsmanship and team spirit throughout the day and we are very proud of their resilience.

In fantastic conditions at Munno Para Soccer Club, the Boys SAPSASA Soccer team took on six other schools from around our district. Great skills and teamwork were on display throughout the day with the boys picking up 5 wins and 1 loss, coming 2nd overall by only 1 point. It was a fantastic effort from the boys who never gave up after 6 grueling games.

We also congratulate Archer and Tex who were selected to represent the Salisbury East District in the state soccer carnival at Gepps Cross in week 5.

Participating in SAPSASA is such a great opportunity for our older students and we are so impressed with the commitment they show to train prior to the carnivals and then how hard they try to achieve their best. Congratulations to all students who participated.

Book Week Parade

How fabulous did our staff and students look dressed for the Book Week Parade last Friday? With the theme of Reading is Magic, we saw lots of fairies, princesses, Harry Potter characters and super heroes, as well as some unique costumes which were amazing. Our student MCs were great and we all loved seeing some of the younger sibling participate with their brothers and sisters. Thanks to all of the families who came along and spent time helping their children dress in something magical.
