Basketball Summer Season

Volunteer Coaches and Team Managers

As we commence another exciting basketball season, I would like to sincerely thank all of the coaches and team managers who have volunteered their time to support our students. With more than 20 teams representing St Francis this season, it takes a tremendous community effort to ensure every team is organised and ready to play.

To support our commitment to child safety, all coaches and team managers must complete the appropriate volunteer induction requirements before the season begins. Some volunteers will be required to complete a refresher module, while others may need to complete the full volunteer registration and induction process.

If you completed the Volunteer Induction Module in 2025

  • Complete the shorter Child Safety Standards Refresher Module when it is assigned.

  • This refresher must be completed before commencing your coaching or team manager role for the season.

  • Sign in using Passtab whenever you are onsite for training or school based activities.

If you have not completed the Volunteer Induction Module

  • Complete the Volunteer Registration Form on our school website and upload your Working With Children Check.

  • Arrange for two referees to complete the Volunteer Referee Form.

  • Complete the Volunteer Induction Module once it has been assigned.

  • Sign in using Passtab whenever you are onsite for training or school based activities.

  • You will not be required to complete the Child Safety Standards Refresher Module until next year.

Important Reminder for Coaches

If you are unable to attend a training session and another parent or family member is stepping in to supervise, that person must have already completed the required volunteer induction process. This is a CESL Child Safe requirement and cannot be bypassed.

The Volunteer Registration Form and Volunteer Referee Form can be found on our school website under Engagement of Volunteers.

Many of our coaches and team managers have already completed all required volunteer documentation and training requirements. Over the coming days, I will contact any volunteers who still need to complete elements of the process to ensure everyone is ready for the season. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through these requirements.

Thank you again for your support of our basketball program and for helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all students. If you have any questions regarding volunteer requirements or induction modules, please contact Luke Freeman via the school office or at lfreeman@sfstrathfieldsaye.catholic.edu.au
