Year 1 Update

Our Learning for Weeks 3 & 4
| English | Week 3 - We are learning to read and write words containing the alternative grapheme for /s/ - ce as in dice, rice and for /j/ - ge as in age, page. Week 4 - We are learning to read and write words with the alternative grapheme for i - i-e, as in five strikes. |
| Maths | We are learning to partition numbers as fractions of a whole and to figure out half of a small collection by sharing between two. |
| Inquiry | We are investigating the five food groups and as a class we will make butter to investigate the process. We will also investigate how grains are grown and what they are used for. |
| SEL | We are learning to describe how to use our strengths to be a good friend or family member. We are also learning about respect from Aboriginal perspectives. |
News and Reminders:
- Hats- All students are required to wear a hat during recess and lunchtime this term. If a student does not have a hat, they will need to sit under the shade sails near the courtyard. Thank you for helping us promote sun safety at school!
- Monday 3rd November – Alternate Student Arrangements Day - class teachers unavailable.
- Tuesday 4th November - CUP DAY public holiday. No students at school.
- Wednesday 26th November - Curriculum Day. No students required at school.
