Pre-Reading: 

Listening games

Learning first sounds of our name

Using illustrations from picture story books as prompts for early literacy

Pre-Writing:  

Painting and drawing representational images and using drawings to convey a message

Children signing themselves in on arrival

Developing  fine motor skills with geoboards, picking up pom poms with tennis ball monsters, placing small rubber bands on a wooden stick

STEM :  For the children to begin to explore measurement using unit blocks to measure the height and length of dinosaur figurines

For children to begin to develop an understanding of how tools work.

Inquiry : Our Community.

For the children to explore the different services in the community, including the police force and fire department, and the roles they play

For the children to express their understanding about different places within the community and how they use them

Familiarising themselves with the different places within the community through dramatic role play

Social & emotional learning

Discussions about how to be kind and a good friend

Developing an understanding as to how others may feel by putting yourself in their shoes

Group games involving sharing and turn-taking

Long Day Care

Did you know we offer Long Day Care, including three and four-year-old Kindergarten with Child Care Subsidy? 

As a not-for-profit service, our fees are lower than those of other services in this area. 

We are open from 7am to 6pm, and the kindergarten program runs from 9am to 2.30pm each day. 

Limited places left for 2026. Please come and visit for a tour, and we can tell you more about the program. 

After the Child Care Subsidy, you pay the gap fee, minus the state government's free Kindergarten, with $2000 offset from your fees via a fortnightly deduction over the year. 

The ELC also offers 15 hours a week of sessional free three and four-year-old kindergarten; enrolment is through Casey Council. 

Enrolments for free 3 and 4 year old sessional kindergarten. 

Enrol through Casey Council for Hillsmeade Kindergarten. 

Long Day Care enrolments with kindergarten is through the ELC office.
