Purple Group’s Exciting Start to Term 4
Purple Group had a fantastic first week back for Term 4! This week, we dove into the wonders of the solar system. The children have been exploring what makes Earth unique compared to other planets, sparking their curiosity and imagination.
We’ve been learning about the different planets and how they orbit the sun, discovering that it takes one full year—from birthday to birthday—for Earth to complete its journey around the sun. Our investigations also led us to understand how day and night occur on Earth, which naturally sparked a lively discussion about the constellations visible in our night sky.
The children were especially fascinated by some of the well-known southern constellations, including the Southern Cross, the Saucepan, and the Emu in the Sky. It’s been wonderful to see their excitement as they connect science with the stars above us!
